Dental CPA in Dallas, and the Financial Planner in the Same Firm

Most dentists keep an accountant for the practice and an advisor for everything else, and the two never speak. We do both, under one roof, as a fee-only fiduciary.

What makes this different

One team, not two sets of advice

A dental CPA files the return. A separate advisor manages the portfolio. Neither is accountable for how the two decisions interact. For a practice owner, that interaction is where the money is.

The CPA and the planner are the same relationship

The entity structure, the retirement plan, the owner's compensation and the personal portfolio are decided together, because the same team is responsible for all four.

Fee-only and fiduciary

We are paid by our clients and by no one else. No commissions, no product sales, no referral fees.

Our fees are published

The schedule is on the website before you call, so you can decide whether it is worth a conversation without having one.

What we handle for practice owners

Accounting, tax and planning for a dental practice

Most accountants for dentists stop at the practice's books. These are the decisions we cover alongside them, because the practice and your personal finances are the same balance sheet.

Common questions

Questions Dallas practice owners ask

Are you a CPA firm or a financial advisor?
Both, and that is the point. J.E. Simmons and Company has CPAs and CFP® professionals on one team, so the tax return and the financial plan are produced by people accountable to each other rather than by two firms who have never spoken.
Do I have to be in Dallas to work with you?
No. We are based in Dallas and serve practice owners nationwide. Annual planning meetings work as well remotely as they do in person, and most of our work with a practice happens between meetings either way.
Do you do bookkeeping and payroll for the practice?
We advise on how to set up efficient accounting and payroll processes for your practice, and we consult on the decisions those processes feed: owner compensation, associate pay, hygiene productivity. We are not a bookkeeping bureau.
What does it cost?
The schedule is published on our process and fees page, broken out by stage: associate moving to ownership, practice owner, and retired owner. We are fee-only, so what you see there is the whole of what we are paid.
I already have an accountant. Is this worth a conversation?
That is what the intro call is for. Fifteen minutes is usually enough for both of us to tell whether coordinating the practice's tax work with your personal plan would change anything in your situation.

Ready to get started?

Fifteen minutes tells us both whether this is a fit.

A short call to understand the practice, what you are deciding, and whether our approach fits. No preparation needed.

Fee-only and fiduciary. We are paid by our clients, not by product sponsors. No commissions and no product sales. Client assets are held in custody at Charles Schwab.
