Joy Simmons, CPA

Before joining the firm, I spent nearly a decade at PwC, working with large businesses across a wide range of industries and ultimately serving as an Assurance Senior Manager. In addition to leading audits, I helped develop and scale a new audit model and became a go-to resource for leadership on complex engagements and stakeholder relationships. I also completed an international assignment in Helsinki, Finland, which strengthened my ability to adapt quickly and work effectively across different environments.

I earned both a BBA and a Master’s in Accounting from Texas A&M University, with a focus in entrepreneurship. While still in college, I founded and operated a floral design business, which gave me firsthand experience with cash flow management, client service, and the day-to-day realities of running a small business. That experience still shapes how I advise entrepreneurs today: practical, thoughtful, and grounded in what actually works.

After a rewarding chapter in public accounting, I took time to travel through New Zealand and Australia before returning home and joining J.E. Simmons and Company. I’m proud to continue our family’s mission of providing clear, practical guidance across planning, tax, and investments.

Outside of work, I enjoy travel, time with family, swing dancing, and supporting the local Young Life organization.
