What Makes Our Process Unique

Consistent Advice Throughout the Process

Planning, tax strategy, investments, and business consulting all work together under one roof.

One Integrated Team

We handle tax, planning, and investments together, eliminating the need to coordinate multiple firms.

Tax-Smart By Design

Every recommendation is evaluated through the lens of tax impact.

We use three separate engagement letters, depending on the services you need: financial planning, investment management, and tax services.

Engagement timing typically follows this sequence: financial planning first, investment management next as needed, and tax engagements as filings are required.

This approach helps ensure our interests are aligned with yours over the long term.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the process take?

The initial planning phase typically spans several meetings over a few months. Ongoing support continues as long as the relationship remains a good fit.

How often will we meet?

Most clients have quarterly check-ins and an annual comprehensive review, with additional conversations as needed.

Is your process customized or standardized?

The framework is consistent, but every plan and recommendation is customized to your situation, goals, and complexity.

Do you coordinate everything or work with outside advisors?

When appropriate, we coordinate with outside professionals. Our goal is alignment, not silos.

How are fees determined?

Fees are based on assets, services provided, and the complexity of the advisory relationship.

How is investment management billed?

Investment management is billed as a percentage of assets under management (AUM).

The fee is calculated based on the assets we manage on your behalf and is typically billed quarterly in arrears.

How is financial planning billed?

Financial planning and advisory services are billed as a flat retainer, typically invoiced quarterly.

The retainer covers ongoing planning, strategy, coordination, and advice throughout the year.

How is tax preparation billed?

Tax preparation services are billed per return.

Can the way fees are billed change over time?

Yes. As complexity changes, fees may adjust. Any changes are discussed in advance.

How are you paid?

We are a fee-only fiduciary firm and do not receive commissions or third-party compensation.

All payments to us are transparent.  Refer to the FAQs above regarding the billing structure for each service.

Do I have to live in Dallas to work with you?

No.  While we are based in Dallas, we can meet virtually with owners across the country.
