Tax Director

Scott started at JE Simmons & Co as Tax Director in February of 2022. Scott has been in the tax business since his graduations from Notre Dame, where he earned a BBA in Accountancy in 1986 and an MBA with a concentration in Taxation in 1987.

He then spent 6 years with national public accounting firms, followed by 25 years as the head of tax departments of several Dallas-area family offices and their high net worth founders. Most recently Scott served as a Tax Director in the Health Care Group of the Dallas office of a national middle-tier CPA firm, focused on dental and medical practices and practitioners.

Outside of work, Scott and his wife Jennifer enjoy the occasional hosting of 4 grand-dogs, 2 grand-cats and 1 lovely granddaughter from their combined family of 5 kids. Scott has served in the leadership of the Notre Dame Club of Dallas for many years, earning a lifetime achievement award from the service organization in 2019.
